Bec & Jye

Recently, I had the humbling privilege of being asked to come along and capture some images for Jye & Rebecca on their beautiful wedding day at Tocal House. As I’ve mentioned before, I never ever take such a responsibility… The responsibility of capturing and documenting such an impacting and life changing day in peoples lives, lightly. The fact that I have known Jye & Bec for a very long time, coupled with the fact that they both mean a great deal to me and to my family, made this even more the case. In fact, I felt an unusually increased sense of nervousness and pressure as I began capturing their day. I doubted myself. I doubted the images I was capturing. I was worried. Fearful that the images I took wouldn’t completely convey their feelings, wouldn’t completely or accurately tell their story. So I took a minute. I sat down and I told myself what I often do… Just see the day the way you see it, and shoot the way you shoot. That’s it. As simple as it gets. What you see here is exactly how I saw Jye, Bec and their family and friends. Their story is what I chased. I’m interested in who they are. What makes them tick and where they find their joy is what I look for. And, given the opportunity, I’ll find it. Their day was incredible… As expected. The details, sure, they were beautiful. Though what I saw, what I felt… Was a day filled with love. A day dominated by their beautiful faith, their relationship with each other, and shared completely with their family and their friends… It was a day I’ll never forget. Here is some of what I experienced…

Take a look…
