This morning… After several typical ‘kindergarten’ style tantrums and quite a few tears form our little five year old princess (and who can blame her really… Term two at school wrapped up, overtired and stuck inside with this ridiculously wet weather), we needed to get back on an even keel. Our little Addie is an incredibly connected and creative little personality. She talks like she’s in her twenties and then talks about dresses like she’s in her thirties. She desires interaction and communication from the moment her eyes open (early) in the morning, until they (against her will), close at night! But as I am learning more, from day to day, she craves simple, creative outlets… and dedicated conversation. So today, we simply set aside some time to draw together and talk (and talk and talk and talk) about that very drawing. I wanted to capture a little of her personality, although I didn’t want to take away from our time by sticking a camera in Addie’s face. So I shot a little ‘film’… Of sorts.
It’s what we both needed today. To create and converse. And it did us both the world of good.
