The Arrival Of Frankie Lane

First, and most importantly… Bec, my wife, is my hero. I seriously cannot comprehend the strength and resolve that it must take to bring a new life into this world and for that, and what she has been through three times now, I will be forever thankful.

Earlier this week, after waiting (almost) nine months, we met our third little blessing. After spending over five years thinking that we would maybe never even get to experience having one child, we are now the abundantly thankful and proud parents of three incredibly beautiful and completely individual, incredible children.

Last Monday (yep… April Fool’s day) as if like clockwork (within twenty four hours of the same stage in each of Bec’s pregnancy’s that she has gone into labour) we looked at each other with that expression that both asks and answers the question at the same time “is this really happening… now?”

And at that time, I made a conscious decision. A decision to deliberately experience every single moment of what had begun to happen and what lay before us. I was going to soak it all in, and think about everything that was going on. To think about what we were experiencing. This journey that has taken so long, is about to both culminate, and then at the very same time, an incredible new journey, is about to begin.

We are going to meet a brand new human. A brand new child… New life.

Not too long after, we met our newest little princess.

Frankie Lane.

And at this point, words now fail me. Save to say that… I am amazed. I am completely in awe, of both our creator and what he has created. I am completely humbled that I have been able to experience this blessing, this privilege.

And instantly, I am in love. Again.

Bec and I had spoken about me capturing and sharing some of the journey of her labour and the birth of Frankie Lane and I was undecided as to whether I wanted to spend time with my camera during this time. Now we look back and we are completely blown away by what has been captured. We are both so thankful we took the opportunity to document this time and capture moments such as the very instant that our little girl took her first breath. This is by no means an exhaustive documentary of her birth, rather, a few incredibly special moments, a glimpse into our journey and the beginning of new life.
